The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) is a national, nonprofit organization founded in 1970. Our organization is dedicated to improving lives today through ongoing support and direct services to individuals with MS, their families, and their care partners. MSAA is a leading resource for the entire MS community, improving lives today through vital services and support. We are actively looking for a full-time Director of Education and Healthcare Relations.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Education and Healthcare Relations (Northeast) is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of MSAA’s multi-state Northeastern region with a focus on community-based educational opportunities for the multiple sclerosis community. Duties include the following: in-person patient educational programs, program administration, grant writing, budgeting, and community relations. The Director of Education and Healthcare Relations is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to the greatest number of MSAA clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsibility for overall implementation and management of regional educational grants, including grant writing, program development, evaluations and reconciliation.
  • Develop, implement and monitor the delivery of nationally and/or regionally designed educational programs. This includes extensive travel throughout the regional territory.
  • Liaison with representatives from the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Prepare all necessary reports in a timely and complete manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the MS healthcare professionals in the region.
  • Act as a representative of MSAA at fundraising, cultivation, and coalition-based meetings and events in the Washington DC area and beyond
  • Support MSAA’s overall foundational development efforts through grant-writing and relationship management
  • Support overall activities of MSAA by supporting all departments as needed and complete other duties as assigned by employer.

Requirements

REQUIRED DEGREES, LICENSES AND CERTFICATIONS:
B.A. or B.S. in related field required, minimum 3 to 5 years of management experience, preferably nonprofit.
