Position:  Director of Development

Location:  Portland Opera’s Hampton Opera Center, just south of OMSI in Portland Oregon

*In-office position

The role of Director of Development reports to the General Director, and is a key member of the senior team. Portland Opera provides an engaging work environment where your ideas and questions are always welcome and encouraged!

 

ARE YOU PASSIONATE AND INTRIGUED BY? 

  • Making an impact in the community, by serving as chief major gifts officer for the opera.
  • Leading an awesome team in the implementation of all annual, project, event, planned giving and capital fundraising strategies and activities.
  • Working with the General Director, Board of Directors to execute annual budgeted revenue goals, while managing relationships with major donors and key stakeholders.
  • Music and theater throughout the day in a fun and enthusiastic workplace
  • Learning new skills and upholding high integrity day-to-day

 

 EXPERIENCE: 

  • Demonstrated record of success at closing six-figure gifts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with a diverse group of people on both a professional and personal level
  • Self-starter, able to work independently under limited supervision while being an integral part of the development team

  • Compensation Structure: This position offers an exempt salary wage dependent on experience, with the below benefits:
