Description

GoodWeave – a nonprofit organization founded in 1994 by Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi – is the leading global institution with a mission to end child labor, and forced and bonded labor, in global supply chains.  GoodWeave has been pioneering and innovating for almost 25 years, primarily in the carpet sector, a market-based certification system that is transferrable to other sectors based on authenticity, proximity, and transparency to someday realize its vision of a world free of child labor.  The GoodWeave System is based on harnessing the power of the market, cleaning up supply chains, creating educational opportunities for children, and improving working conditions.  GoodWeave drives impact by bringing visibility to global supply chains, giving voice to informal and marginalized workers, providing assurance that certified products are free of child labor, and restoring childhood to vulnerable children so they can laugh, learn, and play.

The Director of Communications is part of GoodWeave’s team responsible for creating and implementing the organization’s communications, branding and external engagement strategy. The Director of Communications will develop and deliver campaign and organizational messages for a range of audiences and through GoodWeave’s website and social media platforms, annual report, earned media and other key channels.  The position will be responsible for building and managing media relationships, planning events, collaborating with industry partners, and securing strategic partnerships to build the GoodWeave brand.
