The Children’s Homes of Iredell County, Inc., a children’s home in Piedmont North Carolina, has openings for mission-minded married couples or individuals, without dependent children, for its live-in Direct Care Houseparent positions. Applicants must be over 21 with a high school diploma/GED or higher degree. In our program of care for children and youth who are placed in our care as victims of abuse and neglect, we use a professional, team-oriented, trauma-informed approach to provide a safe, healing, stable, homelike environment for our youth. Our child care staff are a key part of our holistic philosophy of care in promoting youths’ positive spiritual, social, educational, emotional, and physical development.
The Children’s Homes seeks individuals with willingness and enthusiasm for working with children aged 0-21. The ideal candidate is calm, nurturing, open-minded, nonjudgmental, highly organized, and capable of utilizing a loving approach to provide boundaries and structure for children and youth placed in our care.
Our direct care staff work 7 days on/7 days off. Salary is commensurate with direct child care experience and education. Excellent benefits package including health and dental insurance, paid time off upon completion of one year of service, and 401K after two years continued full time employment.
We consider employment with our program of care for youth somewhat of a missionary project. Instead of traveling to distant lands to help those in need, please consider working with us to care for youth who have no choice or chance without our help. Please join our efforts and make a difference in the lives of children and youth who will one day go out into the real world. We want them to go in to their “chance at life on their own” with the right role models of how a family should be. Please consider joining our mission and vision for our youth.
