The Digital Content Manager is an integral part of a dynamic online program including the flagship PFAW.org organizational website, the high-traffic Right Wing Watch blog, and an email membership with over 1 million activists. The Digital Content Manager works to create, curate, and distribute compelling content to help meet organizational goals for online traffic, subscribers, advocacy, and fundraising. This position reports to the Director of Digital Advocacy and Marketing and works closely staff across multiple departments and programs. This position is located in Washington, D.C.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Website Management and Digital Production
    • Content curation and production
    • Create and enforce editorial strategy to achieve SEO goals
    • Oversee content calendar along with staff responsible for creating content
    • Email writing, editing, production, and QA
    • Technical troubleshooting and staff training
  • Social Media Management
    • Sharing PFAW content daily on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
    • Manage social media community, including moderating comments and answering questions
    • Implement paid ad campaigns for development, advocacy and political goals
    • Ongoing research into emerging tools and practices for use in development, advocacy and political campaigns
  • Digital Project Management
    • Manage technical projects such as website redesigns, server migrations, and microsites
    • Collaborate with external vendors including web design, development, and maintenance
    • Lead ongoing website optimization projects
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Define measurable goals for audience engagement
    • Create and distribute regular performance analysis and reports

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

 

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience working in online strategy; including some experience managing social media for a political campaign, nonprofit, or brand
  • Technical skills
    • Experience working in CMS platforms (such as WordPress)
    • Proficiency with HTML and editing software (such as Dreamweaver)
    • Proficiency with tools for audience targeting and testing (such as Facebook Ad Manager, and Google Tag Manager)
    • Knowledge of SEO best practices
    • Familiarity with graphic design software and principles a plus
  • Strong understanding of metrics, analytics, reporting tools, and A/B testing
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical staff to meet organizational goals
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to manage priorities and multi-task in a rapid response environment
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills with quick turnaround
