Title:  Development Manager

Location: Newton, MA

Reports to:  Chief Development Officer

Position description:

HEI/SBH is seeking a dynamic fundraising professional who will lead the expansion our individual giving programs. The Development Manager will have primary responsibility for setting strategy and executing fundraising plans that will increase revenue for the organization's annual giving, monthly giving, and major gifts efforts. The Manager will also support the annual fundraising gala, working with colleagues and Board members on obtaining sponsorships and other donations. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement strategies for donor solicitation that will grow annual individual revenue
  • Work closely with communications and development colleagues to coordinate donor correspondence and mailings
  • In collaboration with research team, schedule and prepare senior leadership for donor meetings/presentations
  • Work with colleagues and BOD members to ensure an exceptional donor experience, with a focus on cultivation and stewardship
  • Assist the CDO to provide support to the Board for specific initiatives, including planned giving and endowment fundraising
  • Work with communications team in enhancing donor recognition in all communication strategies
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of fundraising experience; or an equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Experience with direct donor correspondence
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Excel and Word; familiarity with Raiser’s Edge database, a plus
  • Highly organized, with a track record of successful project management and follow through
  • Commitment to health equity and HEI mission

Compensation:

  • Salary range $60,000-$90,000; commensurate with experience
  • 401(k) with employer match
