We have three locations to serve our communities: the historic Erika J. Glazer Family Campus in Wilshire Center/Koreatown, our modern Audrey and Sydney Irmas Campus in West Los Angeles, and our inviting Resnick Campus in Brentwood.

About the Role

Through engagement and consultation with operations coordinators/Directors, executive leadership, and other shared-resource departments (i.e. Accounting, Communications, IT, Security), the Data Systems Manager (henceforth referred to as DSM) will join a department of 2 to provide support in a few main aspects – data management, system administration, and technical documentation.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Information Systems Director, salary range 25.48 – 27.88/hr (equivalent to 53,000 – 58,000 annually). This role is also 100% work-from-home/remote through to June 2023. Having said that, we will only be considering candidates who are California residents.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in strategic and operational governance processes centered around data.
  • Identify opportunities to enrich and audit collected data, and work with other IS team members to ensure audits are executed completely, accurately, and on a schedule.
  • Document and support maintenance of user account permissions in Raiser’s Edge
  • Implement and maintain system configurations in Raiser’s Edge as needed
  • Assist with executing and maintaining bulk data cleanup and refresh projects on a rolling basis
  • Review and update documented procedures and training materials for accuracy and relevancy

Must-Have Attributes

  • Ethical and Honest. Trustworthiness is paramount for this role. The DSM must be reliable, accountable, and forthright in professional dealings/engagements.
  • Service-minded. The DSM must place high value on providing and maintaining clear/thorough communication and support to the people they work with and for.
  • Proactive. The DSM must be able to work independently on projects through to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Communal. The DSM should be comfortable seeking out user communities and resources for the products we use when encountering issues or new projects. Along the same vein, the ideal DSM will understand the importance of sharing progress on their work with IS team members and making documentation of their work and projects accessible to the team on an ongoing basis.
  • Non-defensive. The DSM will be asked how and when they communicate with colleagues, as well as how they go about solving problems in their work. These questions are asked to get a better understanding of work and communication style. The DSM must be comfortable answering questions of this nature from IS team members and be willing to consider alternative approaches proposed by others.

Skill and Education Criteria

  • High School diploma or GED required, certification, Bachelor’s degree or formal
    education in computer information systems a plus
  • Experience in Raiser’s Edge data entry and system configuration required
  • Experience processing and auditing data in Microsoft Excel strongly preferred, MOS Excel certification big plus
  • Familiarity with church membership and engagement programs preferred
  • Understanding of nonprofit fundraising preferred
  • Familiarity with Jewish culture and holidays preferred
