Southcentral Foundation is currently seeking a Crisis Clinician for our Behavioral Urgent Response Team (BURT) department!

The Behavioral Urgent Response Team (BURT) provides urgent response services for psychiatric emergencies, as well as consultation/liaison services to the Alaska Native Medical Center inpatient units and Primary Care.  This role will offer the ability to provide expertise as a consultant in multiple settings including the Emergency Room, Medical/Surgical Units, Rural integrated care, and the possibility to follow a case over a limited time in an outpatient bridge clinic. BURT consists of psychiatric prescribers, master’s level clinicians, full time nurse case manager, and dedicated behavioral health case managers.

Crisis Clinician:

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Crisis Clinician is responsible for the diagnosis, assessment, and disposition recommendations for youth and adult customer-owners presenting in crisis. Additionally, this position provides professional expertise as a consultant to various departments on the ANMC Campus.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health field including Counseling, Psychology or Social Work; OR PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Current Alaska Clinical licensure.
  • Two (2) years of post-licensure supervised clinical work experience; OR demonstrated proficiency as a Clinician II at SCF.
  • One (1) year of psychiatric crisis experience (pre- or post-licensure); OR demonstrated proficiency as a Clinician II at SCF, which included experience handling crisis situations.
