Join PLI and represent the legal community’s premier provider of continuing education and research services as an on-call Conference and Facilities Coordinator in our San Francisco office. This position has a variable schedule, and the Coordinator will have the ability to sign up for work shifts based on the monthly programs schedule.

Your responsibilities as Conference & Facilities Coordinator (On-Call)

  • On the day of a program, work with outside food caterer in the mornings and afternoons. Set up and replenish food, beverages, and water pitchers for participant lounge, faculty green room, and speaker dais. Monitors these needs throughout the program day.
  • Work with caterer to set up faculty lunch, including setting out water and utensils. In the afternoon, dispose of leftover food, and run dishes through the commercial dishwasher in the conference center kitchen.
  • Light food preparation for breakfast and snacks throughout the day, replenishing items as needed.
  • Maintain kitchen supplies and inventories, which may involve lifting, up to 55 pounds.
  • Check CO2 levels for sparkling water system and change tank, as necessary.
  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment, including but not limited to coffee pots, ice machine, and work areas.
  • Monitors and maintains cleanliness of lounge area, meeting room, and faculty green room throughout the day of the program. This involves lifting of equipment (such as coffee pots and food platters) and chairs.
  • Wipes down chairs, tables, floors, and iPads at the end of the program day. Straightens chair and table placement in lounge area. Plug in and straighten iPads, as necessary.
  • Learn about PLI products and services in order to answer all participant questions, including those related to CLE credits, PLI products, books for sale in the bookstore, and the iPad sign-in process.
  • Collect all necessary customer program closeout material at the conclusion of the program.
  • Assist all PLI conference center team members with other related duties as needed.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • A required minimum 3 to 5 years customer service-oriented experience
  • A current California Food Handler card is required (PLI will support the online certification process to obtain this card)
  • Ability and willingness to prepare light refreshments and maintain cleanliness of conference spaces, including use of various cleaning products required for an industrial kitchen
  • A polished and professional demeanor
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
  • Patience, along with a cheerful, welcoming disposition at all times
  • Ability to learn and capably use PLI software systems related to program and conference center needs
  • Experience with all features of Microsoft Office
  • Flexibility with regard to available monthly work schedule
