 Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) is a well-regarded and influential organization playing a critical role by informing and supporting high-impact health equity efforts, aligning state, regional and local partners, promoting leadership across the sector, serving as an innovator in systems change, and acting as a convener of stakeholders across health equity and advocacy. 

MFH’s next chief strategy officer (CSO) will continue to evolve the Foundation’s work across Missouri and the region. Leading a team of experienced and committed vice presidents who in turn lead high-performing staff, the CSO will ensure work across all programmatic functions is integrated and effective. As a change agent and strategist, the CSO will leverage systems thinking, cross-sector collaboration, and a long-term vision to advance health equity in the diverse state of Missouri. Working in close partnership with the president and chief executive officer and the Board of Directors and activating the Foundation’s financial, human, and reputational resources, the CSO will uphold MFH’s mission of eliminating underlying causes of health inequities, transforming systems, and enabling individuals and communities to thrive.

 ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

Missouri Foundation for Health is building a more equitable future through collaboration, convening, knowledge sharing and strategic investment. Working in partnership with communities and nonprofits, MFH is transforming systems to eliminate inequities within all aspects of health and addressing the social and economic factors that shape health outcomes. The Foundation takes a multifaceted approach to health issues, understanding that strategic initiatives, policy, communications, and research all play a role in creating lasting impact.

An independent philanthropic foundation, MFH was created in the year 2000, following Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri’s conversion from nonprofit to for-profit status. It is the largest organization of its kind in the state and among the largest in the country.

Serving 84 counties and the city of St. Louis, MFH listens to communities, invests in systems, and is committed to helping partners cultivate their best ideas.

Salary range for the Chief Strategy Officer is:  $180,000 to $230,000
