Description
The Chief Financial Officer establishes, evaluates, and advances policies, procedures, and programs for the financial administration of the Central Administrative Offices, parishes, and Catholic schools.
Responsibilities:
· Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
· Provides direction and supervision for the finance, computer services, insurance services, and purchasing teams.
· Oversees preparation of annual financial budget, adherence to the budget through the year, and submission of annual results in compliance with Canon Law.
· Serves on independent organization boards and committees.
Education and Experience:
· Required: BS in Business Administration or Finance/Accounting from an accredited college
Preferred: MBA and/or CPA
· Ten or more years in accounting and financial management. Requires knowledge and training in a full range of accounting/financial matters, general business management, and an understanding of not-for-profit financials.
· Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
· Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP)
· Ability to strategize and solve problems
