Position Highlights
UCP of Western Massachusetts is a 501(c)(3) organization that is dedicated to advancing the independence, productivity and full community inclusion of people with all types of disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy (CP). UCP has four offices in western Massachusetts and serves clients all throughout Massachusetts. We are seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead the Agency ($9M annual revenue) and operationalize recent growth, The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit leadership, strategy, fundraising and business development, programming and contracts, as well community and board relations.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead performance management of senior leadership team including leadership development, training, and developmental coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure that all programs and functions operate in compliance with rules, regulations and standards applicable to the on-going operations of the organization including all relevant funding sources.
  • Oversee the execution of the standards associated with national certification (Council on Accreditation)
  • Develop and oversee the personnel policies and practices of the organization.
  • Schedule, plan, prepare for and attend all board and committee meetings and maintain records of those meetings.
  • Provide comprehensive, accurate and timely information to the board (e.g. monthly financials, program updates, personnel updates, fundraising and marketing)
  • Oversee the 2021-2026 UCP strategic plan and guide the board in developing future long-term strategic plans
  • Identify business development opportunities consistent with the agency’s long-range plan.
  • Oversee the development and execution of a continual fund-raising program including grant writing and planned giving opportunities
  • Lead marketing department to execute marketing plan
  • Develop and foster relationships at the regional, state and local level to support the agency's long-term mission and goals
  • Work with legislators to advocate for issues consistent with agency values
  • Serve as the organization’s spokesperson and maintain productive relationships with other agencies, governmental entities, community, key business partners, board members, media and families of UCP clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field, master's degree preferred
  • Strong preference for 10 years of experience in case management, advocacy or related work, with a significant portion in non-profit organization(s)
  • 5 or more years of leadership experience in a moderately complex environment
  • Successful fundraising, program management, grant-writing and management experience
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with board members, staff, and community partners
  • Critical thinking, problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for nonprofit organizations
  • Passion for UCP mission and goals
