Scion Executive Search (www.scionexecutivesearch.com) has been retained to lead a search for Chief Administrative & Financial Officer for a national social justice nonprofit organization.
The Chief Administrative & Financial Officer (CAFO) serves on the President’s Leadership Team and reports to -- and partners with -- the President. The CAFO oversees a team of approximately 20 staff, with direct supervision of the Senior Director of Finance, Director of Operations, and Director of Talent & Human Resources.
The CAFO leads the Finance and Operations Teams at our client consisting of Human Resources, Finance, Compliance, Operations, Facilities, and IT.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary for the Chief Administrative and Financial Officer (CAFO) position is $180,000-$200,000 based on experience. This is a full-time exempt position. Our client also offers a competitive benefits package.

10-15 years of experience as a senior leader (including strategic planning, fiscal management, risk management, staffing/people management, revenue generation and business operations)
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA highly preferred
Demonstrated commitment to social justice
An inspiring and experienced leader, team-builder, and people manager; able to serve as a mentor and role model of excellence for staff, and to ensure a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability
Strong experience with Intacct, Adaptive Insights, Bill.com or similar systems.
Superior communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation); ability to communicate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels in the organization and to finance and non-finance positions
Solid knowledge and understanding of inter-company accounting preferably relating to 501c3/501c4/PAC regulations.
Demonstrated ability to think quickly, think strategically and work in a fast-paced environment; must be flexible and adaptable in a rapid response environment
Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal – with a passion for collaborating with people and teams based in various office locations and/or working remotely
Experience in a nonprofit organizational environment with an annual budget in excess of $15 million (strongly preferred)
Experience creating, building and scaling systems
