Position Summary

Orr Group is seeking a Business Development Writer to assist with the proposal and contracting processes for new and expanding business opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring writers to develop their writing skills and gain professional experience and growth. Under the direction of the Director, Growth, the Business Development Writer will create proposals, presentations, RFP responses, and other marketing and pitch materials for new business development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engaging written material aligned with our business strategies and objectives in order to contribute to building and maintaining relationships with the current and potential clients
  • Provide final proofreading, editing, formatting, and organizational support on all proposal and contract deliverables to ensure error-free, high-quality content
  • In collaboration with Impact Officer(s), draft, revise, and ensure execution of all contracts using e-signature software, PandaDoc
  • Collaborate with Director of Operations, Partners, and legal to ensure contracts' compliance
  • Work with legal to submit, renew, and revise state fundraising counsel registrations
  • Liaise between Orr Group and partners regarding contract development and negotiations regarding agreement terms
  • Work with Finance, IT, and HR to develop and prepare for contract execution (job codes, invoice scheduling, staffing needs, Zoom lines, etc.)
  • Create compelling marketing content to support the firm’s business development initiatives and events
  • Conduct market research to identify new business development opportunities
  • Prepare business correspondence for our Impact Officer(s) and management members to ensure effective communication with clients and prospects
  • Assists with maintaining marketing database/library, including standard marketing collateral and case studies
  • Update Salesforce CRM data and other internal tracking systems with all proposal and contract data and details
  • Ensures relevant documentation accompanies contracts, maintain accurate digital copies of relevant documentation
  • Revise and standardize language and guidelines for proposals and contracts, as needed with changing needs
  • Update, share and clarify proposal and contract processes, conditions, and details with management, business partners, and employees
  • Assist with other marketing and business development projects, administrative tasks and other related duties as needed or required

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ of professional writing experience; business-related content development experience is a plus
  • Experience working with contracts and legal terminology
  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet multiple, competing deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in Adobe Tools
  • CRM experience, including Salesforce preferred
  • SaaS experience, including PandaDoc preferred

Additional Information

Base salary starting at $60,000 annually.
