Description

Who We Are

Founded in 2016, Path Forward is on a mission to empower stay-at-home mothers and other caregivers to restart their careers. We fulfill our mission by working with employers to launch, implement and expand return to work programs -- a specific workforce development program geared toward professionals with post-college work experience and a significant gap in their career due to unpaid caregiving. These programs open doors for people whose career gaps create an obstacle to getting hired, and change the culture of teams and companies by creating an environment where returning professionals can thrive. Our goal is for these programs to be ubiquitous in corporate America -- as common as campus recruiting, new grad cohorts and other programs aimed at attracting and retaining early career talent.

We’ve now built return to work programs with more than 90 companies, including top employers like Walmart, Amazon, Netflix, Audible, NBCUniversal, PayPal and SAP. We’ve built a brand that is well-recognized by employers and returning caregivers alike and have now graduated more than 550 people, 80% of whom have converted into full-time jobs. (Read our 2021 Impact Statement here.)

What We Are Looking For

In 5 years we’ve successfully built an organization that derives a majority of its revenue from our corporate partners. The Business Development Director will engage in sales of partnerships with companies, manage their own sales pipeline, analysis and reporting, cultivate long term relationships, and take on other projects as requested. The ideal candidate will be goal and metrics oriented, results-driven, and a positive and adaptable self-starter.

Who You Are

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has demonstrated prior success in selling or marketing services (corporate and/or non-profit) to have an impact on Path Forward’s growth, and more broadly on women’s workforce participation, employer hiring practices, and workplace inclusivity. The Business Development Director will have 3 or more years of experience as a sales representative, sales manager, sales marketer, or comparable role, with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets. They will possess the ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organization.

What’s On Your To-Do List

Your first and last job will be to create opportunities for people returning to the workforce and generate revenue for Path Forward by securing corporate program partners. This will be accomplished by:

  • Building and promoting strong, long-lasting employer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their talent needs
  • Working effectively with the program management team to handoff onboarding of new partners, participating in ongoing relationship development as needed
  • Collaborating closely with our marketing team to elevate Path Forward’s brand in the employer marketplace
