Description

We have an immediate opening for full-time Associate Director with a working knowledge of nonprofit management, ideally within a healthcare setting. This individual will work very closely with the Executive Director and the agency leadership team, and will oversee all clinical activities for the organization including primary care and behavioral health services and programs. This is an exempt, full time position (40 hours per week, including some evening and weekend hours). This person will report directly to the Executive Director. This is an ideal position for someone with several years of progressive management experience, with a passion for helping lead all aspects of a strong, local community organization, and with a passion for youth and health.

The Associate Director is responsible for agency operations overall, with a specific focus on clinic operations. In the absence of the Executive Director, the Associate Director acts on his/her behalf and is empowered to make decisions as appropriate, reporting to the Board of Directors as required to carry out the Executive Director role. Responsibilities include oversight of integrated primary care and behavioral health programs; agency-wide program development, implementation and evaluation; grant writing and reporting; strategic planning; building community partnerships with health and youth serving organizations; developing fiscal year operating budgets; and partnering with leadership team to analyze and increase patient capacity and agency revenue.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Medical Team:

o Provides oversight to clinical services and patient outcomes in partnership with Medical Director, to ensure policies and procedures result in an efficient and effective clinic, including ensuring maintenance and adherence to all policies and procedures that include but are not limited to HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA and MDHHS regulations, operational and clinic policies, laboratory and patient care.

o Acts as the HIPAA compliance officer.

o Provides direct supervision to Clinic Manager and Behavioral Health Manager (who in turn supervise all clinic staff).

o Provides direct supervision to the Youth Development and Outreach Manager (who coordinates Youth Leadership Council, Theatre Troupe and community outreach programs)

o Tracks and provides resolution to patient complaints.

o Facilitates Clinic and Quality Assurance meetings.

o Recommends and oversees clinic improvements.

Administrative:

o Provides direct supervision to Human Resources and Operations Coordinator (who coordinates IT, building/facilities needs, as well as vendors/services)

o Provides direct supervision to Youth Development and Outreach Manager (who coordinates Youth Leadership Council, Theatre Troupe, and community outreach programs)

o Oversees program development, implementation, and evaluation in line with agency priorities and funding needs.

o Evaluates, monitors, and reports on agency performance and quality improvement to Board and funders as assigned.

o Participates in annual budget development and monitor budgetary compliance for areas of responsibility including developing and implementing revenue enhancement and expense management strategies.

o Assists in the development and implementation of the agency annual strategic plan.

o Attends leadership team, Board, and other meetings as needed.

o Attends appropriate community meetings as a Corner Health Center representative.

o Oversees the revision and proper implementation of written Operating Policies and Procedures, including personnel policies, and operating policies driven by best practices in youth services.

o Works with Executive Director and Director of Finance to ensure agency spending is in line with Board-approved budget, and seek approval for changes or exceptions to budget when necessary.

o Facilitates the agency’s Leadership Team to identify best practice standards in work with high risk youth and families, and make improvements and modifications.

o Develops maintenance plan for all facilities which includes priority levels, time frames, and estimated costs.

o Oversees the acquisition of contractors, materials, permits, and inspections, as pertinent, for needed repairs and rehabilitation projects.

o Serves as a liaison between staff and IT support contractors, including assisting IT contractors integrate new hardware, software, and systems.

o Oversees and participates in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new professional direct services staff.

Ensures that all direct service staff have opportunities for training and professional development in line with needs of the agency, budget, and contractual obligations.

Provides written performance evaluations to all supervisory staff completing their orientation period and to all others on an annual basis.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in related field preferred, or commensurate experience

• 5+ years of increasing responsibility in non-profit management in a health care organization preferred

• Understanding of the health care industry

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a diverse variety of stakeholders and constituents

• Strong external networking, relationship and customer service skills

• Proven ability to plan, monitor and grow revenue streams

• Experience creating annual operating budget and proactively managing budget variances

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

• Experience with database management required; experience with Electronic Health Records required

• Detail-oriented and highly organized

• Ability to keep sensitive and critical information absolutely confidential

• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently

• Appreciation for the agency mission
