Description

The Freedom Forum is a national nonprofit organization that fosters First Amendment freedoms for all through education, advocacy and action. We are seeking an Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll Administrator (AP, AR & Payroll Administrator) to provide financial support to the Finance Department and to provide payroll support to the Human Resources Department.

The AP, AR & Payroll Administrator will report to the Director of Finance on our Finance Team and will collaborate with various other departments and external vendors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Payroll
    • Process ADP bi-monthly and monthly payroll generation
    • Verify and distribute payroll
    • Generate payroll reports
    • Prepare journal entries for review and posting
    • Process Year-End W-2’s
    • Reconcile General Ledger accounts
  • Accounts Payable
    • Manage the day to day AP functions
    • Create, update, and maintain vendor accounts and files
    • Process invoices timely, accurately and efficiently
    • Manage the weekly payment processing
    • Prepare journal entries for review and posting
    • Prepare and process the tax forms 1099 and 1096
    • Reconcile vendor and General Ledger accounts
    • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
    • Provide invoice process training to team members
    • Provide training on the use of the accounting software (Ariett)
  • General Accounting
    • Manage the cash management maintenance, entries, reconciliation, reporting and analysis
    • Record/monitor bank deposits related to donations, pledge payments, reimbursements, rent, etc.
    • Assist with monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Other Duties
    • Assist with seasonal financial department projects (eg. Annual independent audit, annual budgeting process, annual federal, state and local tax filings, etc.)
    • Support the Freedom Forum Finance Team
    • Provide accounting/financial support to departments of the Freedom Forum
    • Perform additional duties or tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a keen sense of accuracy
  • Possess excellent organization, research, and preparation skills
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must have experience in automated accounting environments (Great Plains experience, a plus)
  • Demonstrate Microsoft Office program proficiency with strong Excel skills
  • Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
