Description
General Summary
Applies accounting principles and procedures to process A/P and Inventory each week. Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records for the organization and serving as backup for Accounts Receivables.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Enter Inventory AP via CBORD/Galley into SAGE
- Codes invoices, expense reports, check requests, etc.
- Receiving, processing, coding, data entry and preparing payment of A/P invoices
- Process check payment runs
- Reconcile vendor accounts
- Other accounts payable tasks such as the end of the year 1099’s and quarterly EPLS review
- Work with internal customers and suppliers on questions or concerns regarding payables receivables
- Meet month-end deadlines for invoice processing
- Scanning and/or filing accounts payable and accounts receivable documents
- Inventory Accounting
- Assist with Monthly inventory counts
- Assists with account research and audit schedules
- Conduct regular inventory reconciliations
- Research and correct inventory discrepancies
- Assists with account research and audit schedules
- Completes variance reports to include research and resolution
- Retains accurate records
- Communicates problems / issues / discrepancies
- Act as backup for AR as needed
- Support the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of Meals on Wheels People, Inc.
- Costumer Service Focus
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Knowledge
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline. Equivalent and directly related work experience may be substituted for a degree
- Working knowledge of current reporting and US GAAP accounting standards required
- General knowledge of accounting and ERP software solutions such as Sage, JD Edwards, SAP, etc. (Sage 300 a plus)
Skills, Abilities & Experience
- COVID-19 vaccination required or approved waiver from Human Resources
- 2-4 years of accounts payable and inventory analysis or accounts receivable experience; manufacturing experience a plus
- Skill in gathering, analyzing and interpreting data a must.
- Proven customer service and problem-solving skills, providing remote support services
- Self-starter and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work autonomously and complete projects with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications and systems, including MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel; comfortable with learning new computer applications and web-based applications
- Ability to set priorities and be flexible to last-minute changes to meet internal and external deadlines
- Skill and motivation to work independently and cohesively with internal and external customers throughout the organization
Any satisfactory combination of experience, training and/or education which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above qualifications.
